Wendy Ma (馬凱怡) (She/Her/Hers) is a Chinese-Canadian undergraduate student who currently resides in Vancouver, BC. Her family is from Taishan (台山), Guangdong and speaks Taishanese, which is a local dialect of Cantonese. Wendy works as a recreation assistant in a Chinese senior care home, where she cultivates strong and meaningful connections with residents through individualized programs to maximize their physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being. She is passionate about contributing to the destigmatizing of mental health in Chinese Canadians. Wendy is part of the University of Victoria research project Stories that Shape Us: Development of stories about intergenerational trauma and its impact on Chinese Canadians.
