Wendy Ma (馬凱怡) (She/Her/Hers) is a Chinese-Canadian graduate student who currently resides in Vancouver, BC. Her family is from Taishan (台山), Guangdong, and speaks Taishanese, which is a local dialect of Cantonese. Wendy has worked in a variety of people-oriented settings where she cultivated strong and meaningful connections with children, adults, and seniors. She is passionate about contributing to the destigmatizing of mental health in the Asian diaspora and hopes to work with immigrant and bicultural clients in the future as a counselor. Wendy is part of the University of Victoria research project Stories that Shape Us: Development of stories about intergenerational trauma and its impact on Chinese Canadians.
